What are good cities to live in for finance/economics majors?

I'm interested in going to college for finance or economics and want to know what cities are good for people who specialize in this to live.

What are good cities to live in for finance/economics majors?
First tier: NY, London, Hong Kong

Second: Chicago, Silicon Valley near SF, Zurich

Third: Boston, Tokyo....
Reply:NYC is the financial capital of the US, so it's definitely on your list. Boston also has a thriving, if smaller, scene. Chicago is the main focus for commodity trading in the US, so I'm sure they're hiring finance students.

No matter where you go to school, do an internship in your field so that you're employable when you graduate. The internship doesn't need to be in NYC if you plan to work in NYC after graduation, but it can only help if it is. But it could be with a well known Boston based firm, and you could work in NYC without a problem.
Reply:Chicago or New York. Less expensive (but still not cheap) in Chicago, though.
